Ross Hodgkinson, an extremely talented young drummer from Aberdeenshire and former U17 Young Scottish Jazz Musician, has been awarded a grant by KSMT.

The grant will help contribute to his studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA (previous alumni include the likes of Quincy Jones and Diana Krall). Here he plans to build on hissuccesses at home, by undertaking a Bachelor in Music.

According to Ross, who started his course last month, in just four classes he had already learned a “massive amount”, and is pleased to have been allocated the renowned jazz drummer Bob Gulloti as his private instructor.
